Badshah Akbar History In Urdu: Through marriage alliances, political rewards and military action, King Akbar was able to appease recalcitrant regions like Rajasthan. Although illiterate, he was endowed with much wisdom, and in Indian historiography, he was upheld as the model ruler who was secular in outlook. His secular outlook came under strong criticism when he openly characterized his victory as the victory of Islam over Hinduism. He issued infallibility Decree but it was not as heretical a step as it was made out to be, because his decreed were based on the 5 fiqhs. Although, it is said, that he proclaimed his version of a universal religion which he called the 'Din-i-ilahi' although there is no contemporary evidence of this proclamation. But certain beliefs of his were certainly out of the pale of Islam, such as the worship of the sun and encouraging idol worship.
