Wagah Border- A poem by Saima Nadeem
Wagah Border
A poem by Saima Nadeem
Wagah Border
Amid strident slogans, in heartfelt hymns
Crowd longing for an awkward silence
The hearts insist Yes, the hearts insist
To cross the Wagah border without a license
Wishing to perceive the palaces and gardens
The pictures in books may come to an existence
Peeking into the past, looking from the bars
The sights rub against the redundant vigilance
The paths of history spread here and there
The civilization calls everyone without guidance
Know the young soldier dancing on one leg
The wounds of wars can never heal under defiance
Empires has been falling apart, new lines drawn
When did the nature keep the map same for surveillance
The separations has been rolling in nature town
It’s usual the duties cutting off the brothers forbearance
High Flags fluttering in the air, do they?
Argue the birds and the air for the tough clearance
you want to fight, fight the hypocritical stories
When the madness flares up to swell a pestilence
Hearts will open, then doors will open
Only a firm intention purifies the insolence
Why to keep filling their arsenal accounts
The world's contractors don’t come for condolence
Fueling the hungry stomachs with ammunition
Can’t make the dishes having mouthful providence
Compromising the patriotism is not a question
Just an atmosphere, a nod to love forgets the difference
There must be an antidote to this poison
The disease of hatred does not have any insurance
Go ahead and erase all the grievances, before
The shadows of slavery gobble all us in a violence
The End
